Los Angeles, CA (July 20, 2009) – MELROSE Music Group (Universal) announces Nationwide Release. The son of a preacher JAVEN is an anointed singer and song writer with a universal appeal. Keeping the Faith, JAVEN’s debut CD with Melrose Music Group is a strong introduction into the craft and musical prowess of this highly regarded artist.
JAVEN, now based in Los Angeles, has the amazing ability to balance a career in music, ministry, and film. He combines his talents to reach both young and old alike. JAVEN’s audience is as culturally diverse as the sound of his music.
Since 1991, JAVEN has been a regular on numerous television networks including BET, TBN, FOX, NBC, DAYSTAR and more. In 2002, JAVEN signed his first record deal with Crowne/Word Records, where he released his debut self-titled CD which included the Top 10 CCM hit single “Never Give Up On Love.” In 2006 he landed a role alongside Omar Sharif and Peter O’Toole in the feature film One Night With The King. This multi-talented young artist even hosted a one-hour weekly radio show on The Urban Network, getting over 6 million hits and reaching over 250,000 listeners. Once a former Co-Host on the Paula White Show he now travels doing over 120 dates per year and is schedule to do a tour this fall in South Africa.
After many years as one of the top independent artist in Christian music JAVEN signed a deal with Melrose Music Group (Universal Music Distribution) who saw the vision of not only JAVEN’s artistry, but his ministry as well. JAVEN’s hit single "One Step" was featured in the film "The Cross" in theaters now. He also has a supporting role in the feature film "Preacher’s Kid" starring R&B Singer Tank, and former Destiny's Child LaToya Luckett with Warner Brothers/Generation in theaters October 2009.
Keeping the Faith, is scheduled to be in stores August 25th. Joined on the project by Israel Houghton and Deitrick Haddon, Keeping the Faith is sure to strike a chord with not only his current fans, but audiences looking for a fresh sound and dynamic worship.
